SMS Consent

Updated August 28, 2026

Awahe Academy collects phone numbers during user registration through the Awahe Academy mobile app. Before completing sign-up, users are required to actively check a consent checkbox agreeing to receive a one-time verification code via SMS. No promotional or marketing messages are sent.

1. How users opt in (during account creation)

During mobile app registration, users enter their phone number and must actively check the following checkbox before tapping Continue: "I have read sms-consent and agree to receive a one-time verification code via SMS. 'opted in' Msg & data rates may apply." The checkbox is unchecked by default. The Continue button remains disabled until the user checks it.

2. What messages will they receive (OTP only)

Users will only receive a one-time 6-digit verification code (OTP) via SMS during account registration. No promotional, marketing, or recurring messages are sent.

Support chat notifications

Replies from Awahe Assistant, the in-app support chat, are delivered by push notification inside the Awahe mobile app. We do not send SMS messages for support chat. The only SMS message Awahe sends is the one-time verification code described above.

3. How to opt out (STOP)

Users can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message received.
