Trucking company websites for small carriers
Shippers search online. Be the carrier they find. A clean, honest website makes a small carrier look like a company worth calling — often the difference between a broker taking your MC seriously and moving on to the next name on the list.
What a trucking company website does for you
-
Get found by shippers
Your company name, MC number, lanes and equipment written where search engines and shippers can actually read them.
-
Look like an established carrier
A real site, a real address on your own domain, and the same company details everywhere a broker might check them.
-
Win more loads
Somewhere to send a shipper after the first phone call, instead of hoping they remember your name three days later.
How we build your carrier website
- We map what you actually doEquipment, lanes, authority, insurance, service area and contact details. The writing is usually the slow part, not the building.
- We build the pagesHome, services, equipment and lanes, about, and a contact page that works on a phone. Your details, your photos, your numbers.
- You get the keysDomain, business email on your own name, and the site itself. It should be registered in your business name so it stays yours — tell us the name you want at the start.
Domain, hosting and business email, explained
Three words get mixed up constantly, and carriers overpay because of it. Here is the plain version.
The domain
Your address on the internet — yourcompany.com. You rent it yearly. Register it in your carrier's legal name, not a friend's account, so nobody else can hold it over you later.
The hosting
The computer your site lives on. Managed hosting means the security patches, SSL certificate and daily backups are somebody else's job. This is the host we set carriers up on.
The business email
dispatch@yourcompany.com instead of a free address. It costs little, it comes off your domain, and brokers read it differently than they read a Gmail.
The website itself
The pages, the writing and the contact form. This is the part we build. It is worth nothing sitting on a domain you do not control, which is why the first two come first.
Is a carrier website right for you?
- Have your authority but no website
- Are running the business off a Facebook page
- Still hand out a free email address
- Get asked for a website you do not have
- Have a site built years ago that looks it
- Want email on your own domain
Trucking website questions people actually ask
What is included in a carrier website?
A small set of pages built around your operation, domain setup, business email, a mobile layout and a contact form. Exactly how many pages, and what it costs, depends on what you need — call and we will scope it before you commit to anything.
How long does it take to build?
Mostly it depends on how fast you get us your details: MC and DOT numbers, insurance, equipment list, service area and photos. Once those are in hand the build is the quick part.
Can I update the website myself later?
Yes. Tell us up front that you want to edit it yourself and we will build it so you can, and show you how.
Do I need hosting before you can build my site?
Yes, or at least by the time we publish. A domain and a hosting account are what the site lives on. If you do not have them, start with the hosting link near the top of this page and tell us the domain you picked. If you already have hosting with someone else, we will work with it.
Who owns the domain and the website?
You do, as long as the domain is registered in your carrier's name on your own account. We set it up that way on purpose and hand you the logins. Never let a website be registered under somebody else's account.
Do I need a website to get loads from brokers?
Not strictly — brokers can book you off your MC number and your insurance alone. But a broker checking out a carrier they have never used looks you up, and finding nothing is a reason to pass. A site is cheap insurance against that.
Will this get my trucking company on Google?
A site built with your real company details, lanes and service area gives Google something to index, and we set the basics up properly. Nobody can promise a ranking or a position, and you should be wary of anyone who does. Pair the site with a free Google Business Profile — that is usually what moves a small carrier the most.
What does a trucking company website cost?
It depends on the number of pages and how much writing is involved, so we scope it on a call and put the price in writing before any work starts. Hosting and the domain are separate and paid directly to the host, so you keep control of them.
