Box Truck Dispatch Training: Common Questions

Do I need a CDL to dispatch box trucks?

No. Dispatching is an office job done on the phone and the computer. You never drive the truck, so there is no CDL, no vehicle and no degree required. This program is built for people starting with no freight background.

What does a box truck dispatcher actually do?

A box truck dispatcher finds and books loads for non-CDL carriers, negotiates the rate with the broker, sends the rate confirmation and paperwork, tracks the truck to delivery, and invoices so the carrier gets paid. You handle the office side, the driver drives.

What freight do box trucks and sprinter vans haul?

Local and regional freight, expedited and hot-shot loads, final-mile and Amazon Relay work, furniture and appliances, medical and pharmaceutical freight, and white-glove deliveries. It is freight that does not need a 53-foot trailer, and there is a steady supply of it.

How much do box truck dispatchers charge?

Most dispatchers charge a percentage of each load, commonly 5 to 10 percent, or a flat weekly fee per truck. In training we go through both models, how to price your service and how to write it into your dispatch service agreement.

Do I need experience to take this training?

No. The program starts at the beginning: how freight moves, who the brokers are, how load boards work, and how to read a rate before you quote it. Every class is one-on-one, so the pace follows you.

Can I train online, or do I have to come in person?

Both. Classes are live and one-on-one over Zoom, so you can train from anywhere, or you can train in person at our Tracy and Fresno, California campuses. We teach in English, Punjabi and Hindi.

How long does the box truck dispatch training take?

Most students finish the core training in about three to four weeks, training around their job. You keep access to your trainer for follow-up questions after you finish.

Do I get a certificate at the end?

Yes. When you complete the program you receive an Awahe Academy Certificate of Completion.

How much does the box truck dispatch training cost?

The full program is $999 (regularly $1,998). You can pay in full, pay in 3 weekly installments of $333, or pay by Zelle and save an extra $50.

What is the refund policy?

Training fees are refundable only if you have not received the training materials or attended your first class. Refunds may also apply if Awahe Academy cannot provide the agreed-upon services. Please read the full refund policy before enrolling.

Can I try a class before I enroll?

Yes. Book a free demo class and sit in on a real lesson before you pay. If you also want to dispatch semi trucks, see the advanced truck dispatcher training.

Still have a question?Talk to a trainer before you enroll. No pressure and no sales script, just a straight answer about whether this program fits you.
